Cultural Season in Mexico City: Music, Chinese New Year, and Festival of Love

A new cultural season kicks off in Mexico City, celebrating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Mexico. The National Symphony Orchestra will present its first concert season of 2026 under the new artistic director and principal conductor, Ludwig Carrasco. The program features 16 concerts from February 13 to June 28, with a special focus on the role of women in music. Concurrently, the Fifth Cultural Festival of the Chinese New Year will take place at the National Center of the Arts, and the Festival of Love in Xochimilco will promote emotional well-being and peace.

The program features 16 concerts from February 13 to June 28. It will include classical works, world premieres, and tributes to renowned composers. Special attention will be given to the role of women in music. The concerts will feature renowned Mexican and international soloists. Concurrently, the Fifth Cultural Festival of the Chinese New Year will take place at the National Center of the Arts (CENART) from February 14 to 27. The festival's program includes music, dance, exhibitions, workshops, and a gastronomic fair. This event aims to strengthen cultural ties and introduce the public to the traditions of both China and Mexico. Additionally, the Festival of Love in Xochimilco will focus on promoting emotional well-being and building peace, with a special emphasis on children. Access to most events will be free of charge.
